A Plunge into the Unknown

It is a venture into the unknown that I take in starting this blog. The advantage to my constant verbal ramblings is that I am only accountable to those present when they are uttered and, if necessary, I can always deny what was said. Here, however, there's no going back. As ol' Pontious said, "What I have written, I have written".

I will make no claims or promises to be smart, thoughtful, or even entertaining. Read on at your own risk for my only goal is to be myself.

For now, know that this is an incredibly busy time for me. The first and easiest of 11 weeeks of summer camp (including all trainings and the 9 sessions with campers) is finished but there are still 10 to go! Soon, my time will be consumed with 16-18 hour work days, supervision of 60+ staff, and the total avoidance of the Texas heat. Making frequent updates to this blog will not be a high priority although I do hope to use it as a place to debrief as well as escape.

I'd like to share one of the many tasks that have consumed my time lately. Tomorrow, we kick off our official staff training with all 60 and we are introducing our leadership team with an amusing video which many helped with but ultimately I created. It is too long to post here but I am posting the last minute and a half of it which is, in my opinion, the best part. Enjoy!

Fear not...I do not intend for all of my blog entries to be as long as this. Just had some housekeeping issues to tend to for this first entry.

Keep it Real!

  1. Woot! Welcome to the Blogosphere! Glad to have you here. I look forward to whatever comes down the pike, as it were. I would definitely add to your self-description "pithy"--for you certainly are!

  2. Sister,

How irritating. My sister started a blog before me, and it included an awesome video. I hope camp is going well, we are starting our full staff training at Camp Tatiyee today.

    In to the unknown,

    Brother

  3. Yup this worked, thanks for the info on how to comment. I loved the movie and I looked at the one on YouTube too. You all have a "rocking" camp. Hero watched the one of senior camp people and clapped. Yeh Aunt Maggie.

And as for Pontious, I'm pretty sure he didn't have the edit function that Blogger has. hehehe...
